Marathi school students should learn the English language.

Language, which has been considered man’s most remarkable achievement, is so much a part of our lives, like the air we breathe, that very often we take it for granted and as often are not aware of its characteristic features. Language is a system. The Maharashtra government wants better English in Marathi schools. 

The state education department is making efforts to ensure that those studying in Marathi schools learn English from an early age.

After making Marathi compulsory for all central board schools, the state government now wants to ensure that the students of Marathi-medium schools do not lag behind. The state education department is making efforts to ensure that those studying in Marathi schools learn English from an early age. We know that the standard of English taught in rural schools and other Marathi-medium schools is not very good. But strengthening the base in English at the primary level is very important, which is why the government is promoting semi-English schools in the state.

It is a fact that one should never forget our mother tongue but knowing basic English is extremely beneficial as it is a universal language of communication as it allows us to communicate with a larger group of people. By teaching it to students who did not know it as well, it will help them to communicate with others more easily.

English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. One out of five people can speak or at least understand English. Knowing English increases chances of getting a good job in a multinational company within your home country or of finding work abroad. English is a particularly important language online with more than half the content on the internet written in English. 

English is spoken in so many different countries. If students speak good academic English, there’re lots of opportunities for them to find an appropriate school and course to suit their needs.
